What are Beetle Bags?
They are handmade fabric bags which hang on the bar in
front of the glove box in the Volkswagen New Beetle
cars. The bags provide a place to stash your cell phone,
compact disks, tissues, pad of paper & pen, sunglasses,
maps, all sorts of stuff that you want in easy reach
while you are driving. Here is a picture of my
Beetle Bag in my Red Beetle.
Where can they be used?
In addition to the new VW New Beetle, these bags also work in
other cars with dash bars, such as Jeeps, PT Cruisers,
or Minivans which have handles behind the front
passenger seats. The bags also fit on walkers and
companion chairs, the bar in front of your stove, the
arm of your lawn chair or beach chair, the towel bar in
your bathroom - all sorts of places!
How big are they?
The Beetle Bags measure about 8 inches deep and 11
inches wide. The strap will fit around bars or handles
that are smaller than 6 1/2 inches in circumference.
How are Beetle Bags made?
I sew the Beetle Bags myself in my home. The fun
part is picking out cool fabrics to use! The outside of
the bag and the interior lining might be the same fabric
or a combination of two
different fabrics. I use fun novelty fabrics and of
course, all kinds of floral fabrics. (Flowers are
why you bought the Beetle in the first place - right?) Each bag has quilt batting in it to help
retain its shape. The bag has a strap that passes
through the car's grab bar and attaches with velcro.
Can I wash the Beetle Bag?
Yes! The fabric is 100% cotton and can be machine washed
and machine dried with like colors. Be sure to close the
velcro so it doesn't collect lint while in the washer or
dryer. Once dried, you can use an iron to press the
Beetle Bag.

Can I custom order a Beetle Bag?
Of course you can! I
know that some Beetle owners have a specific theme for
their cars, such as flames, balloons, or penguins, and
would like a certain fabric to be used. Just send
me an email so we can work out the fabric purchase
